Tonya Barnes, Key Account Manager at FRSecure, spends her days advancing her company's mission “to fix a broken information security industry.” With expertise across multiple roles within her organization, Tonya applies her education background to develop relationships with her clients to strengthen and elevate their infosec security program. As a former teacher, with 17 years of service in the classroom, her experience enables her to provide clients with consistent dedication, service, and excellence. Tonya also served as both the Choral Vice President and President of the Minnesota Music Educators Association, where she oversaw key initiatives in advocacy, operations, and member engagement. During her career transition from education to infosec, Tonya has also developed a passion for supporting others—guiding them to embrace new opportunities and pursue their aspirations in the field of infosec. Outside of work, Tonya is an avid musician. She holds a master’s degree in music education and is currently the Artistic Director of the Northern Lights Chorale located in the Twin Cities, where she continues to hone her conducting and leadership skills while choosing musical repertoire that focuses on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She is also an in-demand clinician, adjudicator, and performer within the state of Minnesota.
